MY MID-WEEK LOVE LIST vol 3

1. My Birmingham Zoo membership
I love animals, and apparently so does Adlay. The few times we have been to the zoo she has really enjoyed watching the animals and “talking” to them in their native Swahili. Yes, my daughter speaks Swahili or some other unintelligible version of baby language. So this year we thought it a good idea to get a membership. You pay one time and you have unlimited access to the zoo for an entire year. Plus you get to bring 2 guests each trip FOR FREE. Double plus you are supporting the zoo without ever having to pick up a pooper scooper. If God ever decides he no longer hates the state of Alabama and allows it to stop raining for longer than a minute we fully intend to use it…..alot.

2. Coloring with my baby girl
Over the past 3 days I have colored no less than 1,000 pages of Curious George, Backyardigans, Dora and any and all of the other cartoon people Adlay has in her coloring books. Obsession does not even begin to cover my child’s recent coloring activities and of course Momma has to join. So damn the laundry and order takeout, I’ve got some Wonder Pets to color.

3. LOST
I need this show like a pig needs mud, which is in plentiful supply in my backyard these days. This show has made a mental wreck of me and I couldn’t stop watching, even if I wanted to. I know the Season Finale is coming (hands getting clammy) and that means the 6th and final season is only a year away (lump rising in throat) which means only about 16 more episodes left and…..wait, never mind………can’t talk about it.

4. This video
In anticipation of the upcoming Harry Potter movie I give you this nugget of viral video genius. I don’t know who these people are or how they have this kind of time on their hands but I cannot get enough of this. There are several other videos in the collection but this is where it all began. I find myself singing this song throughout the day. Beware, if you watch this, it will get stuck in your head. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

5. The little park within walking distance from my house
I just realized there is a park literally less than a mile from my house. It is Little Shades Creek Park and it is just adorable. It has a huge open field to run in, and playground with swings and slides and wait for it…….restrooms. Clean ones!!!! There are several pavilions and tables and from the looks of it the park is brand new. Nice to see the tax dollars I would be earning if I got paid for being a SAHM being put to good use.
